I like the black hearts - the smooth shine to them. My husband is reading Wandless book on pit and barrel firing and is now telling me I need to burnish my work - te he. Perhaps the ashes stole the heats - is it a pain sifting through it all looking for pieces?
I definetely agree with Linda, the black hearts are pretty sweet, especially the ones with the subtle orange blush on them. If it is not what you are looking for, though, check out "Alternative Firing Techniques." Pretty good stuff in there. Making mini foil saggars has worked pretty well for me.
Stolen hearts are better than broken hearts. While we weren't so crazy about the blacks, the sheen is pretty spectacular.
I like those! You know, I have a real stone shaped like a heart from the English chanel that a guy gave me one summer when I was in France. ( Sounds like a movie...right) I'll have to bring it one day and how you. It looks just like these!BTW..I like you new photo of facebook.jen
Hi Elaine, I am following in your footsteps. Today I did my barrel firing. My foil saggars didn't work out too well, but the paper ones did, cleaning up stuff now will post tomororw. I see many refires and more barrel firings in the works, and tomorrow I'll probably make some terra sig.
Hi Elaine, actually the foil saggars did work, it was the paper that didn't.
I think these black hearts are pretty special!
Hey there all, thanks for the feedback. I think these are growing on me...I too like the ones with the blush especially. Linda....great news that you are trying this too and that the foils worked, I will check it out on your blog.
Wow, so beautiful! I especially like the black ones.
